Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released as a standalone, non-album single, this sprawling, eight-minute epic represents the grandiose peak of the initial Britpop explosion. The track features Bernard Butler's increasingly ambitious, swirling guitar orchestrations paired with Brett Anderson's highly dramatic vocal delivery. Despite becoming their highest-charting single, the band notoriously disowned the track shortly after its release as internal tensions led to Butler's departure from the group.
