Shake It Off

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the lead single to her blockbuster fifth album, the track marks the artist's explicit, total abandonment of country music in favor of pure, brass-heavy pop music. Produced by Max Martin and Shellback, the relentlessly upbeat composition addresses media scrutiny and public detractors with forced, triumphant cheerfulness. It was a massive commercial success, debuting at number one and solidifying her transition into a global pop monolith.
