Album Notes & Community Reviews

Built around a claustrophobic, wheezing keyboard hook and a bouncy bassline, 'Close to Me' captures The Cure's bizarre but brilliant intersection of pop accessibility and anxious lyricism. Tim Pope's memorable music video, featuring the band playing inside a wardrobe falling off a cliff, perfectly complemented the track's eccentric, breathless atmosphere.
