Friday I'm in Love / Halo

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Representing a stark contrast to the overwhelmingly bleak nature of their previous album, 'Friday I'm in Love' is an explosion of unadulterated, jangly joy. Robert Smith intentionally penned the track as a naive, throwaway pop song, yet its buoyant melody and infectious energy made it one of the group's most enduring mainstream hits. The tempo was notably sped up during the mastering process, giving the final recording a slightly higher, more energetic pitch.
