Album Notes & Community Reviews
Primarily composed by guitarist Robby Krieger, 'Light My Fire' skyrocketed The Doors to superstardom. Ray Manzarek's iconic, Bach-inspired Vox Continental organ introduction perfectly offsets Jim Morrison's dark, charismatic baritone. While the single edit dominated the pop charts, the album version's extended, jazz-influenced instrumental solos showcased the band's improvisational prowess and established the blueprint for heavy acid rock.
