Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by a descending chromatic bassline and a distinctly music-hall sensibility, this track offers a highly satirical look at aristocratic decline. Its lethargic, summery atmosphere and biting social commentary firmly established Ray Davies' uniquely English observational style in contrast to American psychedelia.
