Album Notes & Community Reviews

Sampling the lush instrumental groove of Mtume's 'Juicy Fruit', this debut single introduced the world to the immense, effortless storytelling ability of Christopher Wallace. The song functions as a deeply autobiographical rags-to-riches narrative, detailing his transition from poverty and street crime to monumental hip-hop stardom. It is widely considered one of the greatest rap songs of all time, perfectly balancing street authenticity with undeniable pop appeal.
