Message in a Bottle / Landlord

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Anchored by Andy Summers' distinctive, heavily chorused arpeggiated guitar riff and Stewart Copeland's crisp, reggae-inflected drumming, this track secured the British trio's first UK number one. Sting's metaphor-heavy narrative of isolation resonated massively, successfully bridging the gap between tense post-punk energy and mainstream stadium rock.
