Album Notes & Community Reviews

Famous for its intricate, pulsing synthesizer introduction and the flawless pairing of Jimmy Tamborello's glitchy IDM beats with Ben Gibbard's earnest indie-pop songcraft. The track's lyrical optimism and warm, romantic melodies contrasted sharply with the typically cold, mechanical aesthetics of early 2000s electronica. Its massive crossover success brought the 'indietronica' sound firmly into mainstream consciousness.
