Twilight in Turkey / Minuet in Jazz

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Ignoring the improvisational core of jazz in favor of meticulously constructed, lightning-fast instrumental set-pieces, this group pioneered a uniquely quirky and demanding musical style. The compositions are characterized by sudden tempo shifts, bizarre instrumentation, and a distinctly modern, mechanical precision. The frantic, visual nature of these tracks led directly to their widespread adoption in classic mid-century American animation.
