Album Notes & Community Reviews

A remarkably gentle, acoustic indie-pop ballad marked by James Mercer's fragile vocal delivery and a distinctive, melancholic tambourine rhythm. The song famously received a massive cultural boost after being prominently featured in Zach Braff's 2004 film 'Garden State', explicitly credited within the dialogue as a song that will 'change your life'. Its success laid the foundation for the mid-2000s acoustic indie boom.
