Album Notes & Community Reviews
This single drew from the more desolate side of The Smiths' mid-period songwriting, pairing Johnny Marr's ringing guitar textures with Morrissey's wounded melodrama. Its B-side connection to 'Meat Is Murder' also links it to the band's increasingly explicit ethical and political themes.
