Album Notes & Community Reviews

Opening The Stone Roses' debut album, this atmospheric track features a slow, industrial ambient buildup before Mani's iconic, descending bassline drops in. Ian Brown's whispered, arrogant lyrics鈥攃onsisting of only a few repeating lines鈥攑erfectly encapsulated the cocksure attitude of the emerging 'Madchester' scene. It was released as a single in the US and UK years after the album's debut to capitalize on their massive underground cult status.
