Album Notes & Community Reviews
Opening with a dramatic, jarring Hammond organ chord and a fiercely commanding vocal hook, this track is a masterpiece of pop tension. The driving, four-on-the-floor rhythm section and immaculate, layered backing vocals cemented the Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team as the architects of mid-sixties American radio.
