Album Notes & Community Reviews
'This Is the Day' became The The's most enduring early single, balancing Matt Johnson's anxious introspection with an accessible arrangement built from accordion, synths, and crisp percussion. Its later use in film and television helped sustain its profile beyond its original chart life.
