Blinding Lights

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Drawing heavy inspiration from the neon-soaked aesthetics of the 1980s, this massive commercial juggernaut utilizes a driving, instantly recognizable synthesizer hook courtesy of producer Max Martin. The lyrical narrative explores themes of intoxication and dangerous late-night escapades, mirroring the song's fast-paced, breathless tempo. It ultimately became the longest-charting song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, defining the synthwave revival in mainstream pop.
