Album Notes & Community Reviews
Built on a menacing, minimalist synthesizer beat self-produced initially as a parody of traditional New York boom-bap, 'Yonkers' propelled the Odd Future collective from internet notoriety to mainstream infamy. The track is defined by Tyler's gruff, misanthropic lyricism targeting pop stars and societal norms. Its shocking, self-directed music video鈥攆eaturing Tyler eating a live cockroach and pantomiming suicide鈥攚on an MTV Video Music Award.
