Right now we are celebrating Fearless and you know I mentioned a little while ago That Taylor Swift tends to write a lot about love but it's not always happy songs Breathe is another sad song, I like sad songs, it's a song about having to say goodbye to somebody And the chorus just says over and over again, I can't breathe without you but I have to And it's sort of like a mantra that I've said to myself on more than one occasion Like I can't breathe without you but I have to, I have to do this, I have to, I can't but I have to And so I wanted to write with Colbie so bad because I've been such a fan of her record And she was one of my favorite, favorite new artist of this last year and I contacted her management And said, "Please let me write with her, I really want to meet her and I wanna write with her" And so she came into the show in Nashville and they made sure that I had that day off And so I met with her at her management company and brought her this idea And we wrote it together and it's about losing a person who feels like a piece of you Feels like a piece of you is missing but you have to because you have no choice Off of Fearless, this is Breathe on Big Machine Radio
