'1000 gecs' is an experimental pop album that helped define the hyperpop genre by taking its eclectic tendencies to their most extreme conclusions. The album features a chaotic and genre-hopping sound, fusing elements of pop punk, trance, dubstep, and ska with heavily processed trap beats, ravey arpeggios, and overwrought, pitched-up emo vocals. Reflecting its creation via online file sharing, the record's jittery and perpetually short-circuiting arrangements are regarded as both a ridiculous and a fine-tuned pop product.
