Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released while the highly controversial Brooklyn rapper was actively incarcerated and facing severe federal racketeering charges, his debut studio album was a massive commercial spectacle. The project features highly aggressive, shouted vocals over energetic trap beats and numerous high-profile guest appearances attempting to secure rapid mainstream crossover. Despite dominating the charts, it was critically panned for its incredibly repetitive lyricism and the inescapable real-world criminal context surrounding it.
