Seeking to capture the notoriously punishing, chaotic volume of their live shows, the Brooklyn trio recorded their fourth album almost entirely live in the studio. The resulting mix strips away much of their previous dream-pop tendencies in favor of a visceral, incredibly dense wall of blown-out guitars and pummeling drum machines. It operates as a terrifying, claustrophobic exercise in pure auditory assault.
