Album Notes & Community Reviews

Reflecting yet another dramatic stylistic shift for the frequently evolving American ensemble, this third studio album completely abandons their earlier symphonic metalcore roots. The recording embraces a raw, uncompromising approach to atmospheric black metal, heavily featuring repetitive, hypnotic tremolo picking, extended song lengths, and deeply mournful string arrangements. It is widely considered the most artistically mature and cohesive release of their notoriously erratic catalog.
