Album Notes & Community Reviews
Deeply inspired by a research trip to his ancestral homeland of Ghana, Paris-based composer D茅sir茅 Niamk茅 presents his fourth full-length album, 'The Sun Turned Black', under his Aho Ssan moniker. The record functions as a sonic dialogue with violinist ASIA, completely excluding percussive elements to focus on highly precise, textured sound sculptures. By fusing raw local environmental field recordings with massive, disintegrating digital synthesis loops, the compositions capture a magnificent, organized chaos that hovers between ambient, noise, and electroacoustic music.
