Album Notes & Community Reviews
Co-produced alongside bassist Meshell Ndegeocello, 'the color of rain' is the highly anticipated second studio album from Grammy-nominated contemporary poet and activist aja monet. The fifteen-track record functions as a waking-dream intervention, merging her surrealist blues poetry and astute flows with rich, slow-building jazz and blues compositions. Featuring guest contributions from Mick Jenkins, Vic Mensa, and Georgia Anne Muldrow, the album delivers an urgent and passionate call for solidarity and political action.
