Album Notes & Community Reviews

'The Maybe Man' is a conceptual alt-pop record heavily steeped in the theatrical and quirky production signatures that have defined AJR's career. Written during a time of immense personal tragedy following the illness and death of the brothers' father, the album grapples overtly with existential dread, adulthood, and emotional uncertainty. It retains their bombastic mix of broadway-style orchestration and electronic beats while conveying a noticeably more melancholy tone.
