Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting his remarkably fluid, Lester Young-inspired tenor saxophone tone, 'Mr Music' captures Al Cohn as a formidable leader and sophisticated arranger. The sessions seamlessly blend the complex harmonic language of bebop with a distinctly relaxed, melodic swing. The album solidified his reputation as one of the most reliable, articulate voices navigating the intersection of cool jazz and East Coast bop.
