Biography
Al Cohn was an American tenor saxophonist, arranger and composer from Brooklyn. He rose in *Woody Herman*'s Second Herd as one of the Four Brothers, contributing arrangements as well as solos, and from 1950 recorded extensively as a leader. His long partnership with fellow tenor *Zoot Sims*, begun with their co-led quintet in 1956, produced records such as 'You 'n' Me'. Cohn also arranged for Broadway and for big bands, and his later albums for #Xanadu# and #Concord# show his warm, flowing style deepening with age and experience.
