Album Notes & Community Reviews

Possessing a remarkably smooth, highly emotive voice, Ala铆de Costa bridges the heavy melodrama of samba-can莽茫o with the cool, modernist aesthetic of bossa nova. 'Afinal...' features lush, sweeping string arrangements that perfectly frame her intimate interpretations of compositions by Jo茫o Gilberto and Vinicius de Moraes. The album underscores her status as one of the most sophisticated and technically proficient vocalists of the era.
