Album Notes & Community Reviews

In a sharp departure from the abrasive minimalism of Suicide, the New York provocateur embraced slick, mainstream rock production for this major-label outing. The recording process was notoriously fraught, resulting in a glossy new wave aesthetic that controversially masked his typically raw, rockabilly-infused vocal style.
