Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Will Oldham (Bonnie 'Prince' Billy), the Scottish singer-songwriter devotes this remarkably authentic acoustic album entirely to traditional folk ballads of death and tragedy. Shunning modern production techniques, the sparse recording relies solely on Roberts' intricate fingerpicking and high, distinctive vocal delivery to revive the macabre history of Scottish folklore.
