Album Notes & Community Reviews
Albert Ayler's late Impulse! album was recorded near the end of his life and shows his free jazz language in contact with vocals, blues gestures, and spiritual themes. 'Music Is the Healing Force of the Universe' remains one of the more debated entries in his catalogue because it places his radical saxophone voice inside unusually direct song and ensemble formats.
