Album Notes & Community Reviews

Expanding slightly on the stark, acoustic intimacy of her debut, the Californian songwriter introduces delicate full-band arrangements, including strings and pedal steel, on this sophomore record. Her distinctively earthy, vibrato-heavy vocals remain the focal point, weaving timeless, rustic storytelling that perfectly channels the spirit of 1970s British folk-rock acts like Fairport Convention. The album solidified her position at the forefront of the late-2000s psych-folk revival.
