Album Notes & Community Reviews

This historic 1971 performance presents Coltrane leading a massive ensemble, expanding her deeply spiritual harp and piano work with full orchestral backing. The recordings beautifully balance sweeping, cosmic string arrangements with roaring free-jazz saxophone interjections from Pharoah Sanders and Archie Shepp.
