Album Notes & Community Reviews

Crucially cementing the highly distinct "Naples power" sound, Almamegretta expertly fuses deeply hypnotic dub and reggae rhythms with traditional Neapolitan vocal melodies. 'Sanacore' actively utilizes heavy bass production and sprawling Mediterranean folk influences to create a uniquely globalized, deeply political approach to Italian alternative music. The album is widely recognized as a masterful, highly atmospheric cornerstone of the 1990s Italian underground.
