American Blues Is Here

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Notable primarily for featuring the rhythm section of Dusty Hill and Frank Beard before their massive success in ZZ Top, this Dallas-based group offered a gritty take on Texas psych. 'American Blues Is Here' blends heavy, fuzzed-out electric blues with the trippy sonic markers of the era. Though a regional obscurity, the record is a vital evolutionary step in the formation of the Southern boogie rock explosion.
