Album Notes & Community Reviews

Mark Eitzel's devastatingly sad, poetic lyricism reaches its zenith on the San Francisco band's major-label debut. Benefitting from enhanced studio production, the deeply melancholic slowcore arrangements are augmented by subtle baroque pop orchestrations, framing Eitzel's harrowing narratives of alcoholism, apathy, and urban loneliness.
