Album Notes & Community Reviews

Alongside their labelmates in the 'Peaceville Three,' the Liverpudlian group helped define the mournful, agonizingly slow parameters of British death-doom. Characterized by weeping lead guitars, spoken-word passages, and crushing heaviness, this debut established the foundation of gothic metal before the band transitioned to alternative rock.
