Judgment!

A masterpiece of inside-outside jazz from one of its most brilliant and unique composers. Hill’s compositions are complex and unpredictable, and the unusual 'pianoless quartet' format (with vibes instead of a horn) creates a unique, transparent texture. The rhythmic freedom between Hill, bassist Richard Davis, and special guest drummer Elvin Jones is breathtaking. It's a high-wire act of structured yet incredibly free interplay.
