Album Notes & Community Reviews
The legendary Beninese vocalist delivers a highly ambitious, track-by-track reimagining of Talking Heads' iconic 1980 masterpiece. Working with producer Jeff Bhasker, Kidjo brilliantly reclaims the original album's heavy African influences by infusing the songs with authentic Afrobeat rhythms, vibrant horn sections, and lyrics translated into Fon. The incredibly energetic project acts as a joyous, culturally significant dialogue between Western pop and its global roots.
