Composed by Angelo Badalamenti in close collaboration with series creator David Lynch, the score for 'Twin Peaks' blends cool jazz, ethereal dream-pop, and ominous synthesizer textures to create its distinctive, moody atmosphere. The largely instrumental album is anchored by its Grammy-winning main theme and the iconic 'Laura Palmer's Theme', with its sound punctuated by the spectral vocals of Julee Cruise on three tracks featuring lyrics by Lynch. The soundtrack's fusion of styles proved widely influential, achieving both commercial success and a lasting cultural impact through its sampling by electronic and ambient artists.
