Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning from an extended absence from recording, the highly idiosyncratic American composer and vocalist delivers a stark, emotionally devastating album for ECM Records. 'An Acrobat's Heart' features Peacock's deliberately slow, haunting vocal delivery accompanied only by her own minimalist piano and the Cikada String Quartet. The record stands as a profoundly intimate, melancholic highlight of modern chamber jazz.
