Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping out from her famous vocalese trio, the highly agile singer is backed by a stellar West Coast ensemble featuring the cool, lyrical baritone saxophone of Gerry Mulligan. Her impeccable diction and profoundly swinging, horn-like phrasing navigate a sophisticated set of standards and bop originals. The album is universally praised as a pinnacle of mid-century vocal jazz interpretation.
