Album Notes & Community Reviews

Taking a brief detour from his fiercely avant-garde original material, the visionary saxophonist recorded this remarkably accessible tribute to the legendary Thelonious Monk. Flanked by an excellent traditional rhythm section, the session highlights the profound structural similarities between Monk's eccentric bop and the modern free jazz movement.
