Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in New York with orchestration by Claus Ogerman, 'A Certain Mr. Jobim' paired Ant么nio Carlos Jobim's intricate bossa nova compositions with lush, swelling string arrangements. The album featured Jobim singing in English on several tracks, further aiding the assimilation of Brazilian rhythms into American adult contemporary pop. It stands as a sophisticated, intensely romantic highlight of his late-60s stateside recordings.
