Album Notes & Community Reviews
A concept album about growing up in the sprawl of Houston, 'The Suburbs' captures the boredom and anxiety of modern life. Arcade Fire trades the baroque maximalism of their earlier work for driving, Neil Young-indebted rock. It won the Grammy for Album of the Year, validating indie rock's place in the mainstream.
