Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting his transition to the warmer, mellower flugelhorn, the leader crafts an exceptionally lyrical, deeply atmospheric quartet date. Avoiding the frantic tempos of standard hard bop, the session focuses entirely on romantic ballads and mid-tempo swing, emphasizing his impeccable phrasing and remarkably pure tone.
