Album Notes & Community Reviews

Rescued from obscurity by blues enthusiast Bobby Robinson, 'Mean Ol' Frisco' marks Arthur Crudup's return to recording after years of exploitation in the music industry. The album updates his foundational Delta blues style with a slightly electrified, rhythm and blues approach. It highlights the high-pitched vocal delivery and rhythmic guitar work that famously inspired Elvis Presley's early sound.
