In the Tradition

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Temporarily stepping away from the loft avant-garde, Arthur Blythe offers a masterful tribute to classic jazz structures with 'In the Tradition'. The alto saxophonist tackles standards by Duke Ellington and Fats Waller, interpreting them with his signature sharp, vibrato-heavy tone. The album effectively proved his profound versatility and deep reverence for the genre's foundational repertoire.
