Quinto Stato

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Displaying a marked shift from their intricate symphonic beginnings, 'Quinto Stato' finds the Italian ensemble leaning heavily into accessible, groove-oriented jazz-rock. The formidable rhythm section remains impressively tight, though the compositions incorporate pronounced funk elements and straightforward vocal melodies. It represents the band attempting to adapt to the shifting commercial realities of the late-seventies European progressive scene.
