Astrofaes, formed in Kharkiv in 1996, was a central act of the Ukrainian black metal underground, built around guitarist and vocalist Thurios with Amorth on drums and Khorus on bass. 'The Eyes of the Beast' moves toward a clearer, more prominent guitar sound, setting epic passages and furious drumming against the band's pagan themes.
